It also supposes your switch came directly from the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connect the switch with the console port (backside of switch) with a serial cable.<br>Make sure you use the following settings.<br>Correct COM port off course<br>Speed = 115200; Data bits = 1 ; Stop bits=1 ; Parity = None ; Flow Control = None<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After  boot, Configure the management port.<br>ip vrf management<br>interface mgmt1\/1\/1<br>  no ip address dhcp<br>  ip address 192.168.30.200\/24<br>exit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>image install ftp:\/\/:&lt;user>:&lt;password>@&lt;ftp-server>\/&lt;binary.bin><br>&#8211;> This copies the OS from the ftp-server onto the image directory and <strong>installs it in the standby-slot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>show image status to follow progress. (copy to switch is fast)<br>You will notice that it takes long to get past &lt;install packages 5 out of 9><br><em>  OS10# show image status<br>  Image Upgrade State: install<br>  ==================================================<br>  File Transfer State: transfer-success<br>    State Detail: Completed: No error<br><br>    Task Start: 2024-03-14T18:22:59Z<br>    Task End: 2024-03-14T18:23:08Z<br>    Transfer Progress: 100 % <br>    Transfer Bytes: 868439745 bytes<br>    File Size: 868439745 bytes<br>    Transfer Rate: 102723 kbps<br><br>Installation State: install<br>   State Detail: In progress: Install packages (5 of 9)<br>   Task Start: 2024-03-14T18:25:10Z<br>   Task End: 0000-00-00T00:00:00Z<br><\/em><br>When done.
